Happy Earth Day
It’s Earth Day! The Shepherd team recycles paper, cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic bottles. We’re proud to do our part to better the environment and to better our community.
Earth Day Facts:
- Earth Day was founded as an environmental teach-in on April 22, 1970.
- Earth Day originated in the US but became recognized worldwide by 1990.
- Twenty million people participated in the first Earth Day.
- Every year on April 22, men, women, and children collect garbage, plant trees, clean up coral reefs, show movies, sign petitions, and plan for a better future for our planet.
- Recycling, reuse and remanufacturing account for 3.1 million jobs in the U.S.
